ABOUT US

Mark Isherwood
Principal & Owner

Honestly, I hate this. The last person I want to write a bio for is me.

Who cares where I went to school? Where I worked before? What awards I won? (too many to count)

You want to know if we can do the job. And the answer is “yes.” The rest of it is stuff we write to make ourselves feel better about – you guessed it – ourselves.

Here are the highlights. I’ve worked in the creative field for a long time (over 20 years). I’ve worked at multiple television stations, and my marriage is the best thing to come out of that. Yes, my wife Cheryl and I met at Channel 9 in Denver. Along the way, we had four amazing kids.

In all seriousness (or as serious as I can be), I do love the work. I love working with people. It’s fun to create things that will help you either build a business, support your business, raise money for a great cause, or do whatever you’re working to do…we want to make life a little bit easier for you. We’ll do it so you don’t have to.

And we’re nice people, and there’s a good chance you will enjoy working with us.

Mitch Stark
Art Director

I’ve always loved making things—movies, cartoon posters with a beat-up sharpie, and radio plays on my 1980’s tape recorder.

And now, decades later, I get to create new things—graphic design, illustrations, motion graphics and beyond! The tools have changed, but my love for the work hasn’t. There’s a magic to media and how it can tell stories about good people and the organizations they run.

I’ve also discovered how much I love creating design as a team. Of course with my friends here at FHP, but also a sea of clients we’ve gotten to know well and partner with through the years. I love watching a founder see their logo for the first time, or the story of their organization or event spring to life in a video. It’s so cool to see a company we support grow and thrive and be proud of the work they present to the world.

I have to pinch myself often. I think the 10-year old me would be blown away to see what I get to do every day, and the incredible people I get to work with. We still have this saying on the wall at our studio—‘Living the Dream.’ Maybe in a challenging world some people would use that phrase sarcastically, but for us, it’s a way of life.

Joseph East
Video Director & Documentary Filmmaker

Ever since I was a kid, I’ve been drawn to the camera and telling stories. For 15 years, I’ve been lucky to have a job doing just that.

I love to direct, shoot, and edit. Whether making a documentary or a short, branded piece for an organization or business, my “heart-work”, as my daughter likes to say, is capturing stories, inspiring audiences, and meeting incredible people along the way.

Working with the team at Freedom House Productions is a gift. We can’t wait to help out on your next project.

Alicia East
Producer & Copywriter

You can work with a lot of different teams to accomplish your goals, but if you pick this one, you’ll also enjoy the experience. We like each other and we like the work we do. Take a look around the website and you’ll see evidence of that fact in every piece we produce.

I’m very grateful to be on this team and if I have the privilege of working with you, it will likely be in some aspect of organization—like scheduling shoots or keeping production days moving along so you can get back to your life. My favorite part of any project though, is getting to know people and their stories. I believe telling stories that matter--in partnership with people like you—is part of what I am on this earth to do.
